The Talent Behind The Scenes
The creation of RTVA in 1987 marked the first political commitment to the audiovisual sector in Andalusia. Gradually, a private business sector began to emerge, alongside the development of an increasingly solid professional network of local talent.
Before this became the thriving reality it is today, in 1998 we proposed the creation of Andalucía Film Commission to RTVA, following international models, with the aim of attracting film productions and promoting Andalusia’s assets abroad.
Over the years, this shared strategy has enabled Andalusia to build a dynamic audiovisual industry with highly qualified professionals who have nurtured and attracted talented creators whose works are now shown across multiple platforms in Spain and around the world, receiving numerous national and international awards.
Andalucía Film Commission was a pioneer in these promotional activities, just as it was in recognising and developing the tourism potential generated by film and television productions of every kind.
Now approaching thirty years of uninterrupted activity, and thanks to strong public-private collaboration, Andalucía Film Commission continues to address new challenges by exploring emerging markets such as India and others, promoting Andalusia’s public and private heritage, and participating in the most forward-looking strategies for the future of the audiovisual sector, balancing cultural development with business opportunities.
We are proud members of an audiovisual ecosystem whose potential we believed in when it was still only an aspiration and which today has become a reality.
Today, we can say that we have fulfilled our instrumental role.

President
Since the creation of Andalucía Film Commission in 1998, I have had the opportunity to meet many talented professionals who, with passion and dedication, have taken care of every detail to ensure that the final scene became convincing and powerful.
I had been thinking about this exhibition for many years and, thanks to the invitation from the Embassy of Spain in Berlin, it has now become a reality. An exhibition inaugurated during the Berlinale, which the entire AFC team already intends to continue expanding with new content, allowing it to travel further and continue highlighting Andalusian technical and artistic talent.
Cinema and the audiovisual sector are currently facing complex times.
May this exhibition serve to highlight the talent behind a few words in a screenplay, the music that moves us, the textures of a chosen fabric, the marks left on a set, the make-up of a wound, the editing, the special effect, the selected location… everything contributes to bringing a story to life.
A tribute, born from admiration, to those who work behind the scenes in Andalusia.
